Abbreviated Dismissal Policy & Appeal Procedure
DISMISSAL POLICY:
Any of the following may cause immediate dismissal:
- Drinking alcohol, intoxication, smoking, gambling and drug abuse on hospital or laboratory premises.
- Falsification of records in areas of responsibility.
- Excessive absenteeism/tardiness.
- Grade below 78% in any clinical experience rotation.
- Acts of insubordination.
- Any act that may endanger others.
- Failure to follow safety policies and procedures.
APPEAL PROCEDURE:
Any dismissal, except grades below 2.5 may be appealed to the Appeals Committee consisting of the Program Director, Education Coordinator, Medical Advisor and or an appointee. The student shall have the opportunity to speak on his/her own behalf.
A student dropping out on his/her own accord and wishing readmission, must reapply.
